Championship Format:
Round one is a stroke play qualifying round. The low 64 players will advance to match play. If entered the defending champion will be the number one seed and will not need to qualify. 32 players will not advance to match play, there is no refund for players who do not advance. All play is at scratch.

Qualifiers:
All non-exempt players must compete in one of the two available qualifiers. The cost to qualify is $75. If a player qualifies for the championship he must pay the remaining championship fee of $90 by July 2, 2009 or the player will forfiet his spot in the championship to the first available alternate.
The number of qualifiers allocated to each qualifying site will be determined after the registration deadline. Allocations are based on three variables (1) the overall number of competitors attempting to qualify for the championship, (2) The field size of each qualifier, and(3) the number of total qualifying spots available for the championship proper.

Walking Only Event:
The 2009 CGA Match Play Championship will be a walking only event! Caddies are allowed in all stages of the event. Automotive transportation will only be allowed in qualifying rounds. |
